Zig Ziglar Passed Away, One of the People I Most Respect

Mr. Zig Ziglar Impacted My Life
Thank You

Back in 1990 when I became a recruiter and didn’t even know there was such a thing, one of the first influences that came to me was Zig Ziglar.
On my desk today is “See You at the Top” and “Ziglar on Selling”, books that I’ve had in my library since I first purchased them in 1990.

I won’t try to quote Zig Ziglar but I will share a concept that I learned from Zig Ziglar that has been a driving force behind my 22.5 years in the recruiting profession.
This Concept has Shaped My Business

I’ll paraphrase the concept.  Someone else can get the quote just right.
In his book, “See you at the Top”, Mr. Ziglar suggested that in sales, if I would focus on helping others to reach their goals, my goals would soon be met in the process.

Way Back Then
Back in my early 20s, Mr. Ziglar’s concept stuck in my mind.  To this day, as I put candidates in front of clients, I am entirely cognizant of the fact that my work has the potential to change people’s lives.

Mr. Ziglar was 100% correct.  If I concentrate on delivering the right candidates to the right companies and put my candidates and clients first, my wants, needs, desires and goals are met in the process.
The day that I try to change the order of Mr. Ziglar’s concept is the day that my business will crash and burn.

Thank You Mr. Ziglar
Though Zig Ziglar will never read this blog, others will.  I’m not afraid to stand up for what I believe in.  Mr. Ziglar had it right 20+ years ago and what was right back then is still right today.  Thank you Mr. Ziglar for being willing to stand up for what you believed.  You’ve impacted my life and I can only hope that I’ve done a good job of applying and passing on your advice through my professional actions.
