Chris landed a new job! Thanks to Chris for sharing

If you’ve read my blog for any length of time, you’ve probably read something about the late Zig Ziglar.  When I graduated from college and was looking for my first position in sales, I consumed large amounts of training material from speakers / trainers such as Zig Ziglar, Tom Peters, Brian Tracy, Anthony Robbins and more.

While each person I just mentioned has brought some level of value to my career, the person whose words have remained most true over my 23 years of recruiting is Zig ZIglar.  I read many Zig Ziglar books years ago and learned a lot.  However, the one concept that Zig Ziglar taught that stuck in my mind more than anything else is that if I would help others to reach their goals, I’d soon reach my goals.

These words (paraphrased of course) were true over 20 years ago and I think they’re even more true today.  Yesterday a really cool message came to me from a friend through LinkedIn.  Today, another unexpected message arrived from a security resume writing and security job coaching client.  He wrote:

Jeff,

It has been some time since we last spoke. But I wanted to thank you and tell you that my time on the phone with you, and my resume building investment was well spent. I have left XXXXX  as the Operations Manager and landed the Corporate Security Director position with XXXXXXXX. I am doing some pretty interesting stuff and it definitely matched my key talents and minimized my weaknesses.

Just thought I would share.

Chris

The report in Chris’ message both encourages me and reminds me why I do what I do.  I am passionate about helping my clients to reach their professional goals.  That is the case whether I’m working with an individual who needs resume writing help, job coaching help or executive coaching assistance or I’m working with a corporate client that needs to reach the industry’s top security talent.

How may I be helpful to you today?
