New Security Jobs Coming to

Many people think that hiring comes to a screeching halt after Thanksgiving and doesn’t start again until sometime after the start of the New Year.

This might be true in some companies but not all.  Just last week, one of my candidates accepted an offer to start a new Security Architecture role on January 6, 2014.  A great way for he and his family to kick offer the New Year with sun and blue skies (more often than not) in Phoenix, AZ.

An Energized CISO!

Yesterday, an outstanding CISO I’ve known for many years and have done placement work in the past made my phone ring.  This particular CISO is usually calm and collected. Or at least that’s what I’ve always experienced whether we’ve been on the phone or in face-to-face situations together.

The conversation I listened to yesterday was anything but calm or subdued.  This CISO is building an Information Security, IT Risk management and Compliance department from the ground up in a company that is growing rapidly through acquisition.  He talked about 20+ acquisitions in just the past couple of years with more to come.

New Jobs Coming

I’ll soon have two new security roles on my desk that represent career building opportunities in the sense that the tools and direction discussed in a near-term interview with this company will likely change significantly in the next 6 to 12 months and so on.

These roles will be reserved for security professionals who may only have a few years of experience.  The roles will be located in Southern California and in the Philadelphia, PA region.

When I'm Fortunate

More often than not, I’m fortunate to be able to work with top-shelf security leaders who are in search of top-shelf security talent.  This is one of those cases where I’m excited to tell up-and-coming security professionals about the opportunities that are being created with one of the CISO’s I most respect.'s Security Recruiter Blog
