A CIO shared his secret sauce line of questions with me today. I'll summarize with this one statement that I believe pulls all of his thoughts together:
When I hire, what I want to know is whether or not you (as a candidate) can do what I need to do next. It's not just about what I need to have done now.
If I hire you today, there’s a strong chance that we won’t be doing exactly what I hired you for today in one year. Are you flexible to change course with me?
Can you learn and are you hungry to learn? What will you do to learn what you don't know when it is time for us to change course?
Use questions like these to get ready for your next interview and you'll be in great shape.
