Information Security Talent is in High Demand

A Recent 6.20.14 Computerworld Article

A week or so ago, I shared an article from Computer World:  Security skills shortage is real, and it’s not going away anytime soon.

This article focused heavily on security skills or the lack of skills available to government organizations.

Information Security Jobs in the Corporate Sector

  • Recently, I was called on by a very large technology company to talk about filling 20 information security jobs.

  • A company in a city where I recently spoke brought up the topic of having 20 information security jobs to fill in their not-too-distant future.

  • A recruiter called me yesterday asking if I could help him to fill 34 positions with one of his security product and services vendor clients.

  • A global consumer products company recently called asking for help with 3 information security openings while another global consumer products company asked for help with 3 more information security jobs.

That’s a total of 80 newly created information security openings from just 5 conversations.
