This is a rare opportunity on my desk where I can deliver a solid IT Project Manager who has some exposure to Information Security to my client.  This role will report directly to my client's CISO.  This role will place you in the Information Security department where you'll work with IT and other groups as opposed to being in IT and having occasional exposure to Information Security.

Information Security Project Manager

Location: AZ-Phoenix
Compensation: $90,000 - $100,000+ Base, Bonus, 401K Match
Education: BA/BS Strongly Preferred
Certification: CISSP, PMP, Cisco Certifications Preferred
Relocation: Yes has been engaged by a global $20B+ client in Phoenix, AZ where we have built nearly the entire Information Security and IT Risk Management department from the CISO through the Architecture staff from the ground up.

In this role, the Project Manager will manage multiple projects from initiation through scoping, design, development, implementation and post-implementation support.  The Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of value-added solutions to business units.  He / she will coordinate groups of employees, contractors and service providers.

  • Manage large IT projects / programs or Information Security components of projects including development of proposal / charter, creating and maintaining the work plan, managing the project team to complete their tasks, tracking and escalating issues and creating and presenting weekly status reports.
  • Work closely with Business representatives, Business Solution Architects, and Infrastructure Architects to gather requirements, scope projects and design solutions.
  • Secure project resources, communicate and receive commitments from project sponsors, and coordinate purchasing and procurement activities.
  • Work with the infrastructure, custom, packaged, business intelligence and operations teams on building and executing project plans and transitioning support.
  • Support and promote an IT strategy that aligns with the business process and operations by understanding the tactical and strategic plans of the business units.
  • Stay current on new business processes, new technologies, project management methodologies and facilitation techniques.
  • Other duties as requested.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree; AND at least five (5) years of experience in the information technology AND
  • At least four (4) years of project management experience on IT system implementations; OR
  • High School Diploma or GED; AND at least ten (10) years of experience in the information technology AND
  • At least eight (8) years of Project Management experience on IT system implementations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deliver them on time and within budget.
  • Must have managed various sized, cross-functional infrastructure and application development projects.
  • Knowledgeable of Project Management methodologies and tools, including Microsoft Project.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet customer requirements and achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Must have superior interpersonal and written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrate effective leadership and influence competencies, as well as the ability to function at all levels of an organization.
  • PMI certification desirable.
  • Must be analytical, detail-oriented, organized, a problem-solver and a strong, experienced negotiator.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business or related field
  • Experience running security projects
  • Experience managing multiple projects at once including multi-year efforts with budgets of $1M or more
  • At least 2-4 years in an infrastructure technical role working with one or more of the following technologies: PKI, DMZ, DLP, NAC, Firewalls, IPS, Vulnerability Management, Malware Prevention
  • Certifications in any of the following technology areas: Cisco Network Switching, CISSP, PMP
  • Use of MS Project 2010, preferable MS Project Server
