1990s
Our first Information Security recruiting assignment arrived in the late 1995, early 1996 timeframe. The search was made up of a combination of finding someone who knew how to harden UNIX and who also knew how to harden Windows NT.
In the late 1990s, we filled several of the top information security leadership roles in major financial organizations. Titles included CISO, VP of Information Security, etc.
2000
By 2000 nearly all of our search work included information security work across the United States. From 2000 to 2006, in addition to recruiting information security talent, we recruited a number of IT Audit professoinals. Our searches included roles ranging from security engineer to IT Auditor to security analyst to security architect to security manager to IT Audit Manager to Director of Information Security to CISO.
2006
SecurityRecruiter.com was launched on-line to capture the focus we already had in the information security recruiting sector. Just a year later, our first investigative physical security search landed on our desks. This search was in the global oil and gas industry. This search has led to multiple opportunities to recruit high-level physical security talent in West Africa for another global oil and gas company.
Between 2006 and the present, we've had the opportunity to fill several converged security CSO level opportunities, several CISO opportunities and a number of Secruity Manager and Secruity Director level roles. These roles range in value from the mid $100s to more than $400,000 in total compensation.
We've been retained by Fortune 100 comapnies in Hospitality, Banking, Financial Services, Manufacturing, Entertainment, Media, Film, Oil and Gas and more. Our clients are in the US and Canada and have stretched as far away as New Zealand.

Security Jobs that at one time were filled by security subject matter experts who were loaded with security skills but were in many cases light on business skills are changing. Security leaders in both the digital secruity and the physical security sectors now need to be highly polished communicators who understand that they're function in an organization is that of identifying and communicating risk, devising ways to mitigate risk and overall providing solutoins that lessen an organization's risk while making it possible for the business to actually do business.
Security leaders who are business enablers will be the security leaders we're asked to recruit for the most progressive comapnies that retain SecurityRecruiter.com to recruit for them.
